BUSCH WILDLIFE

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a 30-acre nature preserve that is home to over 100 animals of a variety of species. The sanctuary is a popular destination for families, school groups, and nature enthusiasts. Their mission: to protect and conserve Florida's wildlife through education, rehabilitation, and research - as such, the park does not have an entry fee, but visitors can support the cause by giving donations or visiting the gift center.

The sanctuary offers educational tours that provide visitors with the opportunity to see and learn about native Florida animals. The tours are guided by knowledgeable staff members who share interesting facts and stories about the animals. Visitors can also enjoy a hands-on experience with some of the animals, including reptiles, birds of prey and other local wildlife.

One of the sanctuary's main attractions is the rehabilitation center. The center provides care and medical treatment to injured or orphaned animals. The sanctuary's staff works tirelessly to rehabilitate the animals and release them back into the wild when they are ready. For some animals, release back into the wild is not an option so the sanctuary has many exhibits that showcase the animals and their habitats. Visitors can observe black bears, panthers, bobcats, deer, and other wildlife in their natural surroundings. There is also a cypress swamp exhibit that features alligators of various ages and sizes, turtles and other aquatic species.

In addition to the animal exhibits, the sanctuary has many other attractions for visitors to enjoy. There is a butterfly garden that is home to many species of butterflies and plants. The garden is a peaceful and beautiful place to relax and observe the butterflies in their natural habitat. The sanctuary also has a shaded picnic area where visitors can take a break, enjoy lunch or a snack and then continue with the rest of their visit.
